The event that shocked the town of Marysville, Washington has made another victim. The 14-year-old teenage girl Gia Soriano was shot at her high-school by a popular student who started shooting at the students. She died on Sunday after suffering serious gunshot injuries. This is the second victim to die after the shooter Jaylen Fryberg opened fire at his colleagues. The Marysville shooting is another proof that American teenagers grow up with a strange gun cult which makes it extremely dangerous for themselves and the people around them.
The perpetrator was a popular student at his school, a football player and a school band member who was very loved by his colleagues and teachers. His actions shocked everyone involved because no one was expecting such a violent outburst coming from him.
The tragedy happened Friday, October 24 when Jaylen Fryberg started shooting in the cafeteria of the Marysville Pilchuck High-school. He injured four teenagers and killed one, before killing himself with his gun. The Marysville shooting has put two other teens in the hospital in critical condition. A girl, Shaylee Chuckulnaskit is still in critical condition in the hospital, Andrew Fryberg, who is the shooter’s cousin remains in critical condition in the intensive care.
The family of the shooter said that both victims are relatives of Jaylen Fryberg and cannot imagine why he would to such a monstrous thing. They said he was a popular football player and a homecoming prince. The shooter was a member of a Native American family, part of the Tulalip Tribes.
Jaylen Fryberg died in the Marysville shooting after struggling with a teacher who intervened to stop him. It’s not clear yet if Fryberg’s intention was suicidal or the gun went off during the struggle.
Some believe the Marysville shooting happened because Jaylen Fryberg was upset with his cousin over a girl. The police are further investigating and hope that they will come up with reasonable answers to this heinous crime.
Members of the community are grieving after the Maysville shooting, praying and placing flowers where the tragedy took place.
