Rumours are abuzz that the tech giant Apple is all set to launch its iPhone 6 larger smartphones in two screen sizes on its official September 9 event in California.
A report by Bloomberg, citing a person familiar with the matter, has said that the company has planned to allow its upcoming iPhone to turn as a mobile wallet.
With their iPhones, the users would be allowed to securely make mobile payments in a store on just a push of their finger tips, Bloomberg reports, citing the person known to the matter.
For the ambitious project, Apple has even chalked out agreements with payment industry providers American Express Co, Visa Inc and MasterCard Inc., the source said on condition of anonymity.
According to the source, the next iPhone device will change the face of card shopping by simplifying the mobile payment mode following the inclusion of a communication chip and a fingerprint recognition reader, which was recently introduced on an iPhone device.
Meanwhile, the spokespersons from Apple, MasterCard, Visa and American Express have yet not been reached for comment.
On September 9, the company is expected to launch a larger 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhones. The idea for launching larger smartphones may have been driven by the high success of larger devices by rivals like Samsung and LG.
The upcoming device will run on next-gen iOS 8 of Apple.
Among the other speculated product that is likely to see the launch on September 9 event is a smartwatch which may be known by the name iWatch.
