On Tuesday, as per the data released by the US government, it was seen that around 2.3% of American adults are either bisexual or are gay. These women and men are seen to have reported many serious self destructive and anxiety habits as compared to straight peers.
As per the U S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the NHIS or the National Health Interview Survey first asked about sexual orientation. It was also proved that bisexual women are twice more likely to have an experience of serious anxiety. On the other hand, bisexual men have a likelihood of indulging into binge drinking as compared to others.
As per a survey, there are more than 34,500 Americans, from which 1.6 percent are gay and 0.7 percent are bisexual. Total 96.6 percent are straight and rest 1.1 percent said they are something else.
Women twice than men were identified as bisexual and around 0.9% females said they were attracted to both the sexes. Bisexual women have double the serious anxiety issues than men.
When it comes to bisexual men, around fifty two percent said that they have 5 or more drinks at night.
Bisexuals and gays have fared well as compared to straight peers in areas such as receiving flu vaccines, HIV tests and exercising. Differences were seen in both the ways.
