Cowboys Supporter Meets Gruesome End at the Hand of Her Stepson

Stepson says he killed his mother because she gloated about Cowboys’ victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

On December 18^th, Dallas Cowboys winning over Tampa Bay Buccaneers was not a cause of celebration for a disturbed teenager in Austin, Texas. While most people would simply change the channel, or express their anger by throwing the remote at the TV, Pontrey O’Neal Jones took it out on his stepmother in the most horrific way imagined.

After his stepmother started gloating about the Cowboys victory, Jones reportedly took out a steak knife and stabbed Magdalena Ruiz several times in the chest area. All of this while she was sitting on the sofa with her husband. When Jones’ father realized what was happening, he grabbed his son by the neck, but quickly released him when he saw Magdalena Ruiz was badly hurt.

According to a police affidavit, Pontrey O’Neal Jones had been planning to murder his younger sister by breaking her neck. However, he changed his mind and hid a knife in the couch to use it on his stepmother.

After the attack, Pontrey O’Neal Jones fled the scene. Nevertheless, he was discovered ten minutes later by local authorities. When police interviewed the suspect he said that part of the attack was triggered by Magdalena Ruiz’s gloating. Apart from that, Jones told the law enforcement officers that the stepmother also disrespected his father on multiple occasions.

Also, the police affidavit states that he had stabbed the victim multiple times because he did not believe that a single stab wound was going to be enough to render death. In light of these events, the suspect was brought in on murder charges. The judge set bail at $500,000.

Prior to the attack, Pontrey Jones O’Neal was planning to join the military. However, he changed his mind, because the pressure was getting too high. In terms of mental health, the suspect was suffered from bipolar disorder. Even though he had access to treatment, he constantly refused to take it. Ultimately, he stopped taking medication nearly two years ago, stating that the treatment slows him down.
