After blasting Latino community members for making their way illegally into the country, Donald Trump recently picked on President Obama for not doing enough for black America during his tenure.
The incendiary statements were made during ABC’s This Week where the GOP presidential hopeful uttered what others won’t dare to think it out loud. The Republican frontrunner deemed Obama’s policy on blacks a “shame,” and added that the American people won’t elect another African American for the nation’s top position for the next several generations.
“I think that he has set a very poor standard. I think that he has set a very low bar, and I think it’s a shame for the African-American people,”
Trump told the ABC host.
And that may not be just a political statement. It is backed by facts that clearly show that in America black lives do not matter, not even to their black president. Rep. G.K Butterfield noted a similar aspect earlier this year when he stated that Black America had entered an emergency state.
Several official and un-official reports show that African-Americans lives didn‘t get better as they had hoped on the day they elected Obama for President. For instance, one in four black household struggle for their daily bread as they live under the federal poverty line. As a comparison, only 8 percent of white households face a similar situation.
Moreover, African-Americans have a twofold chance of being unemployed, while one in three African-American children leave in a family affected by poverty. Additionally, for every extra $100 a white household makes, a black household earns only an extra $6. Plus, the high unemployment rate among black people had been this way for more than 50 years.
Furthermore, gun and police violence aimed at black people skyrocketed during President Obama’s tenure. While blacks are six times more likely to commit or be involved in a murder than their white counterparts, they are seven times more likely to fall victim of a homicide, reports show.
Obama administration’s response to Fergusson, Missouri, and Baltimore police shootings was to point the finger at police and suggest a tighter gun control. So, currently in those cities, police officers are afraid to perform their duty because they may be deemed racists, or end up fired and/or arrested.
Baltimore had last month 45 homicides which is the highest rate recorded for the month in nearly 50 years. But in the meantime, Obama administration had enough time on their hands to promote gays and fraudulently prevented illegal Hispanics from being deported to their native lands.
