Americans drivers have received the best news they could ever wish for. People are taking pictures of the gas station signs because they cannot believe their eyes. The gas prices have gone so low that one gallon of gas can cost $3.
Tom Kloza, the chief oil analyst from Oil Price Information Service said that the fact that the gas prices have gone down is shocking. At the beginning of October the gas price has decreased with 33 cents and today the price for one gallon of gas is $3 or less. This is the first time in four years that the gas prices have gone as low as $3. Kloza said that when the gas prices dropped to as low as $3 per gallon in 2010 and that the drivers didn’t think it was possible to go lower than that.
The global demand for oil has not been rising lately, as it was expected. This is due to the fact that the drillers have found new sources of oil, especially in the US.
The gas prices will not remain so low for long because of the seasonal swings that always occur. Still, the gas price hasn’t been this low since the winter of 2010. The experts expect the gas price average for the coming 2015 to be even lower.
A driver from Tennessee couldn’t believe it when she went out today to buy gas. She paid $2.57 a gallon and filled up her car. She was surprised but delighted to know that the gas prices have gone down nationwide. When she saw how low the gas price is she took a photo of the price sign and posted in o her social media account.
She said in an interview that:
“I can’t remember the last time it cost under $30 to put 10 or 11 gallons in my tank. A month ago it was in the $3.50 range and that’s where it had been for a very long time.”
