Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush is a potential runner in the race of 2016 US presidential election. If sources are to be believed, he is expected to contest the polls from the Republican side.
The former Governor had earlier declined to contest for the 2012 presidential polls despite the Republicans’ support.
George P. Bush, Jeb’s son who is running for the post of Texas land commissioner, says his father is “moving forward” on the potential White House run.
In an interview to a media outlet, P. Bush said that his father is “still assessing” a presidential call, suggesting huge possibility of Jeb Bush going with the White House this time.
The younger Bush said, “I think it’s more than likely that he’s giving this a serious thought and moving and moving forward.”
When asked about whether he meant it was “more than likely that he will run in the presidential race,” P. Bush said: “That he’ll run. If you had asked me a few years back … I would have said it was less likely.”
Jeb Bush is the son of former US President George H.W. Bush and the brother of ex-President George W. Bush.
Insiders say the family considerations could play a distinguishing role in his decision.
Bush has led the fundraisers for the candidates from Republican field candidates and committees and supported the campaigns for governor in South Carolina, Iowa and Nevada. These were the first four states to have held early presidential primaries.
Jeb Bush, during an interview to a mediahouse, had shared that he is enjoying complete support of his wife, Columba, for the potential presidential campaign. But, his mother and former first lady Barbara Bush, who was earlier supportive is now neutral and trending in a different direction.
Last year, Barbara Bush showed lesser interest in the presidential polls, shad declared that there had been “enough Bushes” in the White House.
But Jeb Bush seems not to be perturbed by such campaign.
According to his son, Bush is going to enjoy the 100 percent support of his family.
