Headache is a very common health problem and people of all ages suffer from this agonizing pain. Whether you suffer from migraine, sinus headache or stress related headache it can ruin your entire day. This annoying medical condition can cause severe pain along with nausea, vomiting. Before popping up painkillers to get rid of headache you can try some natural remedies to get relief from the headache.
Drink lots of water and eat some food:
When you are dehydrated you may start getting headache. Drink a lot of water to maintain the water balance in body. Sometimes not having proper meal throughout the day causes headache. So whenever you get a headache have a little food.
Massage your scalp:
Doing some light massage can give you a relief from the pain. It improves blood circulation and relieves tension.
Peppermint oil massage:
To quickly get rid of headache massage peppermint oil on the forehead and temples for few minutes. The oil gives a cool and soothing effect.
Put cold cloth:
Putting a wet cold cloth on forehead sooth the eyelids and reduce the pain. If you have stress headache you may use hot cloth instead of cold. It will relax your muscles.
Ginger tea is beneficial for headaches. Crush up an inch of ginger root and add it to boiling water. This homemade tea reduces pain quickly.
Have an apple:
If you wake up in the morning with a headache, eat a piece of apple by applying some salt to it and then drink some warm water.
Cinnamon can effectively treat headache. Take some cinnamon sticks and grind them to make a powder. Add some water to the powder to make a thick paste. Now, apply it on your forehead and keep it there for half an hour.
