Google is revolutionizing translation methods for a better communication. In the past decades, people have been experiencing the lack of barriers between ethnies. Travelling, foreign language courses have brought nations closer to each other. Google is also building a device that could translate in real time.
All software needs updates at specific periods of time in order to satisfy its customer’s requests and needs. In this respect, Google offers several applications complying with people’s requests. One of the most popular one, Google Translate is soon developing a new update. Translations will be provided in real time by this new feature of Google Translate.
Taking into consideration several nations’ request to add their language into Google Translate, the software’s engineering director, Macduff Hughes saw translations from a different angle. While some nations insisted on introducing their official language, Hughes efficiently placed those languages in the system.
After a period of time, Google’s engineering director developed the automatic translation available on different applications. For example, automatic translations are to accessed and used on Google Chrome. This is Google’s browser, which most of the people have it already installed on their computers. After choosing the native language, Google Chrome also can translate a certain website into that native language.
Google Chrome can detect more than 90 languages and many more are to be added in the near future. However, the astonishing news is that Google will upgrade to a better, fuller version. It will detect real-time speech and offer and accurate translation in only a matter of seconds. The translation will be in written form even though the original text, given by the speaker, can be produced in oral form.
In other words, foreign oral speech will be converted into a native written text. Conversations, business meetings or official gatherings could be appointed and conducted without a translator present there. This new upgrade will keep track of the entire conversation so that both parties can follow the flow of the conversation. Also, this could also be a great opportunity to catch some new phrases or learn new lexis.
Although Skype already launched a similar translation version, few languages are available like English or Spanish. While Skype tries to add more languages, Google is set on helping its 500 million users by implementing more than 80 languages into the new Google Translate version.
