No more 12 Days of Gifts from Apple. For those who have been waiting for a bargain from Apple, the company has some bad news. Apple seems to have postponed the promotional offer for this year.
For the last six years Apple customers have been able to enjoy the free gifts that the company had made available. So each year, from the 26th of December to the 6th of January, Apple would offer iOS users free downloads every day. The clients could download apps, games or iTunes songs from the online stores.
The free downloads would begin on December 26th and each day subscribers could verify the 12 Day of Gifts application in order to find out what what’s the Apple giveaway. Then the app would provide a direct link to that gift for the users to free download.
Since it’s already the 28th of December, and there was no announcement about the promotion, which was supposed to start two days ago, clients tend to believe that this year Apple wont be offering any IOS gifts and goodies. Apple hasn’t given a reason for skipping this year’s giveaway.
Offers from previous years of the 12 Days of Gifts have included full length feature movies, short films, episodes of popular TV shows, apps, games, books, music videos, music albums and more.
One of the reasons for ending the promo could be the fact that there are too many free apps available on the App Store. As app developers have realise that the only way Apple would be interested is if they would offer their apps for free and count on the money from the advertising adds associated with their apps.
The users desperate for free apps must be the ones feeling the pain Apple has brought upon them. Even so, there is always the free app section, where can be found pretty popular apps. For extra help, clients can use the top downloads tab, which sums up the most popular apps, listing both, free and paid ones.
“Apple skipped the Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals this year, too, which was perhaps the first clue that things would be different with the Christmas promotion in 2014.” wrote MacWorld
