Lumia lovers have news to cheer about. Microsoft has already tested its new Lumia and the same will be revealed on November 11. Lumia had recently changed hands and now every Lumia phone will be known as Microsoft Lumia unlike to the brand name Nokia Lumia under which it was being sold previously.
The new Lumia like its predecessors will come in bright colours and will have a powerful camera, much to the pleasure of those who want to do quality photography with the new phone. Tuula Rytila, senior vice president for marketing of phones in Microsoft had hinted recently that the company was looking forward to unveil its first Lumia phones. However, he did not agree to the assumption that the name change done by Microsoft will render the present Nokia Lumia phones obsolete.
However, with the logo of Microsoft firmly engraved on the Lumia series from now onwards, the smartphone has embarked on a new journey. It is highly unlikely that there could be any dent in the market of Lumia series as Microsoft in itself is a big brand.
Moreover this shift comes months after Microsoft had taken over the smartphone operations of Nokia. Encouraged by its switch over in the smartphone segment, Microsoft had also launched its range of tablets. The business did not go on well initially but lately the company has been performing quite well in this segment too.
Strangely, Microsoft has decided to retain the Nokia brand name on entry series phones from the company.
