New marketing strategies are being unveiled by both Target and Toys R Us for the coming holiday season. A new spot is being teased by Target for limited-edition holiday collection with Toms, known as Toms for Target. It hopes to meld the quirky style and zealous ‘one for one’ generosity of the brand with limited-edition enthusiasm of Target.
The collection is scheduled to go on sale on the 16th of November and is broader than the usual canvas shoes of Toms. It is inclusive of 50 items such as picture frames, jewelry, mugs, mittens, hates, scarves, jackets and hoodies.
The price of all is said to be under $50 and each purchase would trigger a donation. The Minneapolis based retailer claims that each partnership has potential of providing 11 million shoes, blankets and meals to those in need. Target didn’t return phone calls.
The holiday partnership of Target with Toms is a perfect marriage of the core values of both the brands-great design that everyone can access and a commitment to give back, says the EVP and Chief Merchandising and Supply chain officer of Target, Kathee Tesija.
Walmart has also released its ‘Hot Toys’ list for coming holidays. N.J based retailer, The Wayne says that it has an intention of using the new ‘Gift Express’ and ‘Here’s What’s Hot’ in stores for helping make shopping easier, along with Gift Finder, the online curated program. It says that the Price Match Guarantee would be continued for store and online competition.
