Right before Christmas, rumors about a new iPhone started to surface in the internet. Some believe Apple is working on a new device called iPhone 6S Mini. The rumors say the new iPhone will be released sometime in 2015 and it will be one of the three new Apple releases.
Many wonder what to expect from the iPhone 6S Mini if the rumors are true and Apple is indeed cooking another surprise for the coming year. There are speculations regarding the phone’s specifications, with one of them predicting that the design of the new iPhone 6S Mini will be inspired by the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, that have been released earlier this year.
This means that the rumored iPhone 6S Mini could have curved edges, just like its predecessors. Some believe that Apple will follow on Samsung’s footsteps and will come up with an iPhone that will have a curved display, like the recently released Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. Others doubt that Apple will be making its new iPhone with a curved display, since Apple is all about innovation and not copying others’ design and specifications.
Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is a premium variant of the Galaxy Note 4, so if the iPhone 6S Mini will come with cheaper components, a curved display will not make sense. Tech analysts say it’s more likely that Apple will be making the iPhone 6S Mini sport a plastic build.
Specification-wise, the rumored iPhone 6S Mini may feature the same screen size as the iPhone 5 and 5S, that is a 4-inch display. Other specifications may be similar to the ones on the iPhone 5, like an A-series processor and an 8 MP rear camera. The iPhone 6S Mini could also feature Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint reading tech, but it might not have the NFC support like the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.
Some say the iPhone 6S Mini will have Apple Watch-like features, but no one really knows for sure what those could be. Apple is said to release its smartwatch and the iPhone 6S Mini in the second quarter of next year.
