It seems that the oil industry and climate change go way back. New unearthed evidence shows that big oil corporations like Exxon knew exactly the amount of damage they were causing to the planet ever since the 1940’s. And they’ve been trying to fool the public ever since.
The International Center for Environmental Law conducted a lengthy investigation and discovered that the oil industry and climate change go way back. The two are such old acquaintances that many of us weren’t even born, the second World War didn’t even finish when big companies like Exxon were already working on campaigns to lead the general public away from the truth.
Humble Oil, as Exxon used to be called, sponsored a great deal of studies that clearly showed the massive impact that greenhouse gasses have on the environment. Basically, the big polluters were aware of how much irreparable damage they were causing the planet, but they wiped a tear of sadness away with a $100 bill and threw it in the trash.
The oil industry and climate change go way back. They are such old acquaintances that the first managed to tackle the subject before it was hot, it succeeded in manipulating the public opinion into thinking that climate change is a hoax invented by scientists who want to impose green measures on the general public.
And the grasp that the oil industry has on every affair in the world is clearly visible in the presidential campaigns. The Republicans are declaring themselves “doubters” in a time when there was an entire conference in Paris was held on the subject of climate change.
The scientific data is solid, “doubters” are either scientifically impaired or sponsored by the oil companies. So next time you hear Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, or Sarah Palin declaring that climate change is a hoax, and the researchers are out to get us, you may want to check who is sponsoring their campaigns.
Fossil fuels exploitation lead to the imbalanced planet that we live on today. And the oil industry and climate change go way back. Ever since the oil companies discovered the damage they were doing to the environment in the 1940’s, they never stopped.
Instead of investing in greener solutions, they preferred to mislead and misinform the general public. They spent millions on mass manipulation campaigns creating generations of doubters and scientifically impaired individuals like Sarah Palin.
