Oreo Recalls Products Because of Undeclared Allergen

Despite the fact that no confirmed case of illness appeared due to the undeclared allergen Oreo decided to recall its products.

Oreo recalled its Fudge Cremes flavored cookies due to an undeclared allergen. The allergen that was not declared on the label was milk. It is required by law to declare any allergen that a product has. If this doesn’t happen people can eat that product even though they are allergic to it.

This recall comes after a person had an allergic reaction to an Oreo cookie. No other case has been reported. This recall comes after Mondelez Canada recalled Mr. Christie’s biscuits. People reported that this product had a weird taste and some cases of illnesses have been reported.

Mondelez Canada is a division of Mondelez Global LLC, the one that produces and distributes Oreo cookies and other brands. Despite the fact that no confirmed case of illness appeared due to the undeclared allergen Oreo decided to recall its products.

Oreo recalled 2 of its products: The mint flavored and the original Oreo Fudge Cremes. They are recalling those products because they can be very dangerous for people who are allergic to milk and can cause some serious problems.

“This recall is a result of analysis conducted by the FDA related to this product,” according to the recall notice.

This recall comes after the FDA made an investigation and discovered that the products did not have every allergen written on the label, as they should have. They cookies don’t contain the allergen but they are made in an environment that can expose the products to this allergen.

This recall is a nationwide one and products are going to be taken off the shelves from the U.S and other areas that are near the U.S. They are taking back every product and people who purchased this product need to throw it out. Those who ate the cookies and know they are allergic to milk should go see a doctor. Also, people are advised to report any problem that might be caused by this or any other product.

If they need to learn more about this product and its recall they can contact the company at this number 1-855-535-5948. There they will get more information at any hour of the day.
