Volition has revealed a standalone expansion for its new Saints Row IV: Gat Out of Hell. The details of the much-awaited game were released during their panel at PAX Prime in Seattle over the weekend.
The upcoming ‘Saints Row IV: Gat Out of Hell’ has many interesting twists and turns. This time the Saints would be seen going to Hell to “shoot the devil in the face.”
The developers say ‘Saints Row IV: Gat Out Of Hell’ maintains the legacy of its previous series and has highly loose grip on reality. In the new standalone expansion, we have protagonists Johnny Gat and Kinzie fighting Satan, besides many unnamed‘historical figures’ who would twist the game more. The game will also feature two online player co-op.

The developers have introduced a number of new weapons in the game which includes – the Chairmageddon (the La-Z-Boy chair with machineguns seen in the trailer), the plague-firing Locust Gun and the Energy Caster. The major portion of the game is set in hell (apparently half the size of Saints Row IV’s Steelport city).
According to the developers, the standalone expansion for Saints Row IV will be unveiled in early next year. The original game is ported to the gaming sensations PS4 and Xbox One.
According to Deep Silver, there are plans to reveal two new Saints Row releases. ‘Saints Row: Gat Out Of Hell’ is due to launch on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC on January 27 next year in the United States (North America). Hence, we can expect its release in the UK on January 30. Gat Out of Hell will not require a copy of Saints Row IV to play. It is priced at USD 19.95 in North America. No local release date or pricing details have been revealed by the company.
This is for the first time that a Saints Row game has been launched in a next generation format and hence, there will be a compilation of the two games- Saints Row IV and Gat Out Of Hell- which will be released for the Xbox One and PlayStation, under the name ‘Saints Row IV: Re-Elected’.
It would be double fun for users of Xbox One and PS4 as they will include Gat Out of Hell as well as the base game. But the developers say if you don’t want both the games together, you can opt for Gat Out Of Hell alone.
