In a miraculous escape, a 40-year-old woman from Florida won the battle of life after she miraculously escaped following a heart failure when it stopped beating for as long as 45 minutes during a routine surgery in October.
According to the doctors, she has fully recovered now.
Ruby Graupera-Cassimiro, a resident of Boca Raton in Florida, suffered an amniotic fluid embolism after she gave birth to a baby girl through cesarean section.
The doctors at the Mayo Clinic, who performed C-section on her, said that amniotic fluid embolism is a rare health condition that often occurs shortly after child birth.
According to the doctors, the rare condition occurs when fluid surrounding the baby in the womb enters the bloodstream of the mother.
“There’s very few things in medicine that I’ve seen, working in the trauma center myself and doing all the things that I do, that really were either unexplainable or miraculous. And when I heard this story, that was the first thing that came to my mind,” Dr. Anthony Dardano, of Boca Raton Regional Hospital, said while sharing his experience during Graupera-Cassimiro’s operation.
The doctors said after trying several measures when they found themselves failed in saving her life, they informed her family about her death. But when they were about to call her time of death, Graupera-Cassimiro’s heart at once started beating again and she was back to life defeating death.
