The Windows 10 mobile update requires some firmware adjustments first. Microsoft’s Windows 10 for mobile devices will be soon launched for current gadgets, but the company has now provided more information about its platform.
Specifically, the software maker notices that a series of cellular products running on Windows 8.1 will have to get firmware upgrades. It is only after this step when they will be capable to get their latest Windows 10 Cellular enhancement.
We are still not nearer to having a specific launch date for Microsoft’s Windows 10 for mobile, but for now, the organizations officials offered some useful details. So far, almost all updates for Windows Phone in Lumia devices came included with firmware upgrades.
The 8.1 version arrived with the Lumia Cyan, while the 8.1 upgrade 1 had Lumia Denim integrated into it. However, Windows 10 will allegedly not come bundled with any type of firmware included. This indicates that Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 gadgets will receive firmware upgrades independently.
These up-dates will come simultaneously with Windows 10 for some gadgets, while for other types of devices, they will arrive before the 10 Mobile version. For current gadgets running on 8.1, the Win10 upgrade will be the only software upgrade.
But to be able to fix some other problems, there might be firmware enhancements for some gadgets that are still powered by the 8.1 platform before they will get the Win10 upgrade, as a Microsoft representative informs tech media.
Right now, Microsoft has not conveyed what Windows 8.1 gadgets will get modified or when, but all users should have the newest software on all their 8.1 products before planning the Win10 update. The organization did not provided a specific launch date for its latest operating system, but many Windows Phone customers are getting more and more disappointed about it.
Windows 10 for Mobile was said to launch for current Windows Phone gadgets back in Dec 2015 but experienced a few setbacks down the line. After that, it was anticipated to come last month, but following reviews exposed another delay, which was this time set for this month.
More than midway through Feb, Microsoft Mexico declared that the Windows 10 OS would begin being released at the next week, only to admit that this statement was off. Now, people will have to see when Microsoft’s Windows 10 for Mobile will finally begin rolling out to 8.1 gadgets.
However, the company is very secretive when it comes to this problem and tech sources will keep their readers in touch as more details become available from Microsoft.
