ZAGG and mophie have merged to dominate the mobile accessory industry. Relatively few users buy only a smart phone or a tablet and almost all clients also purchase at least one other accessory, while sometimes several additional devices.
It is quite easy to understand why: a smart phone is commonly a useful customer product and definitely takes advantage from the extra protection offered by a good case. On the other hand, a tablet represents a fantastic gadget for media consumption, but to do effective tasks on the device, an attachable keyboard is the main useful equipment.
Both gadgets are also good when they are powered, so this is the reason why the phone accessory business is a successful market. This week, a couple of the biggest and most well known equipment producers, ZAGG and mophie, had finalized a merging deal.
Essentially, ZAGG is buying mophie and this new organization will instantly become the industry innovator in the battery case segment, external batteries, display protection or tablet keyboards. Right now, mophie is the market’s leader in battery case manufacturing around the entire globe and a major producer of mobile battery chargers.
Their unique raise in popularity is due to the juice package case made for Apple’s iPhones, but the company has also launched similar accessories for a variety of other gadgets, along with a popular series for Samsung’s Galaxy S phones.
ZAGG is a major producer in a variety of safety and keyboard components for mobile phones or tablets, like the InvisibleShield or iFrogz products. These are famous and respected brands in the equipment industry.
Both ZAGG and mophie’s products are available for purchasing from many mobile provider stores on the entire globe, plus their official sites. Under this deal, ZAGG has decided to acquire mophie for around $100 million, in addition to a percentage depending on how profitable the company is over the year “earn-out” interval from Apr.
During this financial interval, both management groups will collaborate to recognize areas where their mixed company can discuss about guidelines coming from both organizations. The firms said that their totaled sales for last year reached $450 Thousand.
The recent mixed team wants to continue the production processed in Chinese factories and combine their distribution systems across the United States, European countries and the Asian markets. From the notices associated with the merging, it seems that the recent management team is getting ready to combine their designs and growth plans for the next series of products.
The new organization should also take advantage of enhanced product identification, which is used to increase the popularity of mophie and ZAGG products .
