By donating around 122 million dollar to the affected region, China has shown that it cares for those in need. Other major countries like United States too have been offering aid to Ebola affected West Africa but when it comes to offering the largest aid to any one nation, China has undoubtedly taken a lead.
Besides providing food and money, China has also contributed in terms of disease prevention material as goggles, sprays, thermometers and temperature monitors. It has also set up laboratories in the Ebola affected region and is planning to send team of experts to the region.
This move has remarkably come at a time when other countries are shying away from offering medical services to the region. Restrictions have been put on health aid workers who wish to travel to the Ebola affected countries.
Abu Bakarr Fofanah, the Health Minister of Sierra Leone has expressed his thanks to China for standing by its side during its time of crisis. The minister has said that China has stood by Sierra Leone during its toughest time and has provided valuable medical aid to the Ebola affected country.
Ebola reportedly broke out in Sierra Leone during its initial phase and has claimed over 4,000 lives until date.
