So… remember global warming? And remember how up until recently, there were more American citizens to believe that it wasn’t real than those who believed it was an actual problem? Now, that the majority of the nation is ready to accept reality and do something about it, it’s time to go to the Stone Age.
Well, not quite the stone age, but something equally bad. In a public manipulation attempt as full of real facts as the Harry Potter books, a new anti-global-warming-believers movie was launched. And believe me when I say that Climate Hustle is about as accurate as Reefer Madness.
Supported by such “activists” as Sarah Palin, Oklahoma Senator Jim Inhofe (which you might know as “that guy who brought a snowball into the Senate as proof that global warming isn’t real”), and David Legates (who was repeatedly paid by big oil companies to denounce climate change), the movie views itself as a comedy on the “errors of climate change.”
In fact, this excerpt is from Climate Hustle’s official website:
Are emissions from our cars, factories, and farms causing catastrophic climate change? Is there a genuine scientific consensus? Or is man-made ‘global warming’ an overheated environmental con job being used to push for increased government regulations and a new ‘Green’ energy agenda?
Of course, you can guess what the movie is going to claim. While certainly not as infamously bad as Reefer Madness, Climate Hustle has similarly accurate facts and a far worse motive – money. You probably realized by now that the movie was mostly funded by big oil corporations.
The two-hour movie was only showed in about 400 theaters around the United States on the 2nd of May, and the people in charge did their best to make sure that no critics would be attending. Of course, some managed to get in, and the consensus is that while the movie is not torture, it’s undoubtedly a bad movie. And not a cult classic, either.
You probably know by now that 97 percent of all scientists believe in climate change and are certain that it was caused by mankind. The remaining three percent are paid by these big fossil fuel companies to deliberately lie to the public, misinform it, and make sure that we buy as much oil as possible.
You know, it’s tragic. I’m talking about the world in which we’re living. It’s full of people that only want what’s best for themselves at this very moment. And that’s not a good approach to life. Life is hard enough without us standing in our own way. Climate Hustle is a very good example of everything that’s wrong with our current society – rich people attempting to convince more rich people that exploiting the poor for their own gain is worth anything, including the future of our planet.
