The Mexican officials have announced the discovery of four bodies east of the border of Matamoros. The bodies were found near where the American teenagers went missing three weeks ago. Raul Galindo Vira, the state investigator didn’t want to discuss the identity of the four bodies found in Mexico.
Another state official said the investigators in charge of the case are trying to determine if the bodies belong to any of the three brothers from Progreso, Texas who disappeared with another young person on October 13. The official said the four bodies found in Mexico were in an advanced state of decomposing. The official said that he is not authorized to make any statements to the press and insisted on remaining anonymous.
The mother of the three missing American teenagers said that her husband was asked by the Mexican authorities what the young Americans had been wearing when they disappeared. The mother, Raquel Alvarado said that witnesses saw armed men seizing her daughter Erica Alvarado Rivera, 26 and her sons Jose Angel, 21 and Alex, 22. The mother said that people saw the armed men grabbing her children in the small town of El Control, near the Texas border. The three American citizens were visiting their father who lives in Mexico.
Witnesses said that Erica’s brothers intervened when some men starting pushing and hitting their sister and her boyfriend. All four were taken away by armed men who are known to be part of a police security unit called Grupo Hercules. Witnesses said that the federal highway police was there and didn’t do anything to stop the incident.
The town’s mayor and one of the spokeswoman did not want to comment on the accusations brought to their police officials.
Martha Hernandez, the woman who had raised the Erica Alvarado’s boyfriend said that no one announced her about the four bodies found in Mexico. She said that they will keep searching for the bodies and they will not give up. She alluded to the 43 students who went missing in Guerrero, Mexico.
