A McDonald’s customer had a meltdown after ordering ice cream and being asked the money before completing the order. The entire incident at Hougang Mall in Singapore was recorded by another customer who was sitting at her table.
The video gathered 1.1 million views in less than a week, with many people wondering what was in the man’s mind. For around a minute and a half, the man is shouting at two McDonald’s employees in front of the cash register.
The man got angry because the cashier asked him to pay during the order. When the employees apologized, he replied, “Don’t tell me sorry. I very angry. What! I haven’t order finish, money money money, what is this?”
The cashier keeps apologizing telling him that it was a “miscommunication,” but nothing seems to calm the customer down. The man is being heard asking for the manager to come. Next, he shouts profanities while slamming the cash on the counter.
McDonald’s Customer Loses It
The customer that filmed the incident said she was sitting at a table when she heard the man losing it over the order. What’s more, the cashier was an old lady, but that didn’t prevent the man from insulting and yelling at her.
Onlookers said that even if the cashier had done something wrong, the man should not have reacted that way. The man left with an ice cream, but he returned to complain that it was not his favorite flavor. The cone was half-eaten.
The manager offered to change the flavor, but he refused and left with no explanation.
In a later statement, McDonald’s sided with the employee. The company underlined that any “misunderstandings” can be solved amicably. A spokesperson underlined that McDonald’s are human being as well and should be treated with respect instead of being yelled out.
