For some time now, the world’s best-known food chain, McDonald’s, has been attempting to get its customers to remember and, why not, proclaim its slogan: “I’m Lovin’ It”. And the slogan seems to be working for the Golden Arch company: despite an ever-declining fast-food industry, McDonald’s has managed to stay on top.
Yet, even a slogan is not enough to keep businesses afloat during difficult times, especially in such competitive markets, so marketers need to constantly come up with new ways of attracting customers. And McDonald’s is prepared with a plan that will surely make the wait worthwhile for those walking through its door.
In a Super Bowl ad, McDonald’s will announce its conviction that “lovin’”should be a part of each of our lives. And that the food chain is in the perfect position to bring a bit more “lovin’”to its customers.
“We’re on a journey to change the relationship and conversation and Pay with Lovin’ is a direct way for us to engage with our customers. We believe that a little more Lovin’ can change a lot.”
Deborah Wahl, McDonald’s chief marketing officer for the US, said.
This is the concept of the fast food chain’s “Lovin’ Beats Haitin’” campaign.
This new campaign allows McDonald’s workers to randomly accept a particularly enjoyable form of payment starting with the 2nd of February. For selected McDonald’s restaurants across the united states, customers will be randomly selected at predetermined times (between 6 AM and 6 PM local time) to take part in the campaign. These customers, who will have previously placed their order and who will have also presented a method of payment will be informed by the restaurant’s Guest Service Manager (also called the Lovin’ Lead) that the company has decided to do something special and that they have the option of paying for their meal with an act of Lovin’.
What this does for the food chain’s customers, marketing experts believe, is to create a one-of-a-kind experience. Employees also have the opportunity of better engaging with customers and making the short moments they spend in the restaurant unforgettable.
Lovin’ acts range from offering hugs, calling family members or even fist bumping.
