Sony and the PlayStation Network have made a custom not to leave their clients upset and disappointed. As a result, those who owned PlayStation 3 and PSP in 2011 and got disconnected or went offline will have some advantages now. But there are some conditions that must be considered, since the enterprise has started accepting claims.
The equation is simple: if you are a former user of PlayStation Network, Qriocity, or Sony Online Entertainment, with an US account created sometime before the 15th of May 2011, there is a big chance that your collection of games and other accessories will grow. The users must fill in a claim form online, which will start their payment restitution process. A very important issue is that the deadline to submit the claim is August 31st 2015. Those who can’t sign in must be those who have already taken part in the “Welcome Back” promotion Sony organized after the service had been reestablished in May 2011.
The games that are given away for free include Infamous, LittleBigPlanet, Super Stardust HD, God of War HD, and also some other titles for PS3 and PSP. Moreover, the clients shouldn’t expect to have them in their hands by the end of August, but in the following months. Another option that users can benefit from is receiving a new theme or three months of PlayStation Plus for free, but unfortunately, the current members are not allowed to get into the program, which is quite a downside. Sony hopes that all these consolation prizes will wash away the shame unwillingly brought upon their company in the spring of 2011. One month without service for an involved and passionate customer is very much and there were obviously many disappointments at the time.
Presently, cyber attacks are a great deal in the press, and assuring professional security for the entire internet and other communicating methods is very important to the great powers of the world. The President Barack Obama himself has talked about the importance of these issues in the State of The Union Address:
“No foreign nation, no hacker, should be able to shut down our networks, steal our trade secrets, or invade the privacy of American families, especially our kids. We are making sure our government integrates intelligence to combat cyber threats, just as we have done to combat terrorism.”
