If you’re like us then you’ve been waiting patiently for the Apple Pay release date ever since the news came out a few months back. Until now there have been all kinds of rumors about the date when Apple will release their much-anticipated online paying system.
Along with the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple Pay was something Apple came up with this year. According to some reliable sources, the Apple Pay release date has been settled and it’s going to be on October 18. Some say that Apple could launch the paying system even earlier than that because the new iPads are to be released in October. Maybe the events will be on the same day, as some suggest but we want the Apple Pay to be discussed in details not just mentioned. The Apple Pay release date was actually made public by one of the retailers which will use Apple’s new online paying system, Wallgreeens. If Wallgreens revealed something about Apple Pay, maybe the other retailers will follow. Sephora,Whole Foods or Panera Bread are just a few of the retailers that agreed to use Apple Pay. Apart from retailers, the Apple Pay will be used by banks as well. So far, only USAA has made any statements about the Apple Pay saying that the new online payment system will be available starting November 7. When we first heard this date announced, we automatically assumed that this is the official Apple Pay release date, but with Wallgreens’ recent announcement we don’t know what to believe anymore.
Although it sounds a little odd that Apple would launch one of their products on a weekend – something they’ve never done before- it would make sense because the weekends are the best time to go mall shopping. During the week, a mall looks like a ghost town. Until we find out any other official or unofficial news about the Apple Pay release date we will assume that October 18 will be the day. We will keep you posted with any updates as soon as there are any.
