European along with American leaders suggest using stronger measures for monitoring and protecting Internet users. More importantly, they also call for improving the security system at borders. In this respect, the United States of America has decided to host a summit next month.
Ministers all over Europe and United States want to prevent a massacre like the one happening at Charlie Hebdo, the French newspaper. Policemen as well as journalists were the principle target in that shooting.
The march which occur this afternoon in Paris gathered world’s leaders who wanted to be united against terrorist attacks. Today’s gathering in Paris was also to ask for increased security at border lines with strict regulations as well as surveillance.
The General Attorney was also present at today’s march, in Paris. As a reply to extreme violence and terrorism, Eric Holder, U.S. Attorney General, officially announced the summit’s date to be on February 18th.
Taking into account the audacity which killed 17 people in France, Eric Holder strongly suggested that humanity must hold responsible those who took so many lives in that terrorist attack. Also, he advised the officials to determine the causes of “such heinous acts”. Holder reassured the people that during the next summit world’s officials will look for ways to prevent and counteract such extreme violent acts.
Bernard Cazeneuve, the French Interior Minister, urged Europe to improve the share of information across border. He also said that borders should have a better surveillance system of passengers who travel between countries. These passengers should be registered and kept track of their intentions while traveling.
On the other hand, questions have already been raised regarding the freedom of speech as well as the freedom of the press. Journalists all over the world participate at today’s march shouting that they are not afraid. They are solidary to Charlie’s loss and pain. They still want to be the voice of the people.
In conclusion, the U.S. summit is not only a discussion between trained officials but it will also bring pilot programs that address extremism. Those pilot programs will present the best practices to use when dealing with terrorism. They will also inform the people about the officials’ efforts to emerge in crisis situations.
