There definitely has been a time in everyone’s life when you have wished for a faster Wi-Fi connection to get all your jobs done faster. How many times have you found yourself hanging by a very delicate balance all thanks to slow Wi-Fi connection? It looks like Samsung has heard all those wishes and decided it’s time that they all come true. The South Korean giant is all set to introduce the fastest Wi-Fi technology available today for consumer electronic devices. This technology will provide speeds that will transmit your data five times more faster than the fastest one available today.
Using the 60 GHz band width, the company has successfully managed to build speeds of 4.6Gbps which is equivalent to 575MB per second. The fastest that we have in today’s devices is 866 Mbps which amounts to 108MB per second. Although Qualcomm acquired Wilocity had earlier used the same 60 GHz band to Wil6300 chipset, the commercialisation of the product had a huge question mark in front of it which Samsung claims to have answered. Now with this new technology, you can transfer a 1GB movie from computer to your smartphone in three seconds or even less. Besides that, there will be no delays in streaming high-definition videos from tablet to the television.
All the company did was put together the best modern technology, millimeter-wave circuit design, wide-coverage beam-forming antenna and viola, the huge problem of poor signal and data performance was solved. You no longer have to deal with co-channel interference or delays in time. Be it medical devices, telecommunications or audio visual equipments, the Samsung Smart Home and all other Internet of Things initiatives; the company plans on introducing this new Wi-Fi technology to all the devices as early as 2015.
