The Chinese smartphone company Vivo has released a super thin phone called X5Max. Until this device was released, another China-based company held the thinnest smarthphone in the world called Oppo R5.
The new product released by Vivo is 4.75 mm thin, that’s 10mm thinner than the R5 from Oppo, while the iPhone 6 from Apple is 6.9mm thin.
The new X5Max from Vivo and the R5 by Oppo bear stunning similarities with each other and with Apple’s iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s. Vivo’s X5Max back side is made of aluminum with plastic glossy strips at the top and bottom side, and unlike R5 and iPhone 5, it has speaker grills on the bottom side of the plastic strips.
According to the specifications of this smartphone, Vivo has put a big effort into making it a powerful music player. The phone has two audio processing chips developed by Sabre and Yamaha, which is used to enable the phone’s karaoke mode. This karaoke mode allows the music that the owner listens to play while the owner can also hear himself while wearing the headphones.
The smartphone has a 5.5 inch screen, the same screen used for Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus, with a resolution of 1080p. The front camera of the X5Max has 5 megapixel while the back camera has 13 megapixel, the back camera of Vivo’s new smartphone slightly stands out from the thin carcass of the phone. Even so, the revolutionary and super thin aspect of the X5Max, the big HD screen and the metal frame has been considered pretty incredible allowing users to overlook this minor defect.
The processor of X5Max, a Qualcomm 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor with 1.7 Ghz speed, 2gb DDR and an internal memory of 16 GB.
Based on reviews from experts, Vivo X5Max has two major advantages that place it higher on the ladder, in front of Oppo’s R5. The X5Max is lighter than the R5 and it has a standard size headphone jack connector, while the R5 allows users to connect the headphones through a microUSB port and is heavier than the X5Max.
The big inauguration of X5Max will take place on December 12 in China for the price equal to 490 U.S dollars and there are no reports as if it will hit the United States market as well.
The R5 from Oppo will arrive in the United States, but there are no indications to when that’s going to happen, yet.
