This year’s Consumer Electronics Show is packed with thousands of gadgets, so finding the most promising products wasn’t an easy task. However, we gave it a try and handpicked some of the top highlights from the Vegas tech show.
Though, Tesla Motors and Google are the most popular automated car developers, the automotive industry has an ace up its sleeve. We were especially impressed by GM’s 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV, which was unveiled during this year’s CES edition.
According to the producer, the all electric vehicle can run 200 miles on a single charge. But that is not all. The price is incredibly affordable – $30,000 with federal incentives.
Another gadget that made us say ‘Wow!’ was LG’s foldable display, Yes, you heard it right– the South Korean electronics company unveiled a 18-inch screen that can be rolled up like a magazine while it is turned on. We are now anxious to learn what applications its maker has in mind for it.
Drones were the stars of the show, with lots of innovations. But the one that drew our attention was the one from Parrot. The ‘Disco Drone’ has no official release date or price, but its features will certainly convince any drone enthusiast to add it to their collection.
Reportedly, the Disco drone can reach 50 miles per hour. Can stay 45 minutes in mid-air before running out of battery, and it has an AI-based system that allows it to avoid collisions with objects in its way and self-fly.
We were also impressed by The Razer Blade Stealth ultrabook, which you can carry around like a regular laptop but you can also couple it with an portable graphics docking station called the Razer Core to turn the machine into a gaming beast. The manufacturer pledges that the Core allows you to play all your favorite titles at max settings. The Stealth’s retail price is $999.99, but there isn’t a price yet for the station.
Another gizmo that caught us by surprise was a Samsung refrigerator which allows you to stream your favorite music and videos directly on its touchscreen. The fridge also enables users to place online orders at their favorite grocery stores and retailers and pay for the shopping via a MasterCard. Unfortunately, the price is rather spicy: $5,000.
And there was an additional surprise from Samsung this year: the SUHD TV line with dazzling 4k resolutions and sleek appearance (no bezel involved).
