The American companies have added about 230,000 jobs in October, the highest in past four months, according to a private survey by payroll processer ADP.
The report was released by ADP on Wednesday under the name October 2014 ADP Research Institute National Employment Report.
According to the survey, the businesses are optimistic as they are looking forward to hire more employees despite signs of sluggish growth overseas.
The addition of employees last month is slightly ahead of the figures recorded in September. As per the ADP survey, the companies in the US had added 225,000 jobs in September. The addition of more than 200,000 staff could be enough to reduce the rate of unemployment.
“Employment continues to trend upward as we begin the last quarter of 2014, driven mostly by small to mid-sized companies. October’s job growth is the highest since June and the second highest gain of 2014,” said Carlos Rodriguez, president and chief executive of ADP Research Institute.
The steady growth in businesses in previous six months has boosted firms to hire new employees, as per the data collected by ADP.
The latest data report indicates a healthy labor market of the country. Experts believe the data could lead to an encouraging employment gain in the government jobs and unemployment report set to release on Friday.
Notably, the ADP has only included the private companies in the US for preparing the survey. However, the company officials have also closely reviewed the comprehensive government report that includes government agencies.
The report showed that the medium scale businesses, comprising of lower than 500 employees, witnessed the largest surge. The medium businesses added over 120,000 jobs in October. ADP report also showed that these firms had added 47,000 jobs between August and September. On the other hand, small businesses rose more than 100,000 jobs from September to October.
